The air is crisp, the leaves are falling and our pots are filled with colorful mums. The fall season is upon us! I love autumn. It brings us a harvest of rich and savory foods along with such physical beauty in our surroundings. Nature at its’ finest can provide a beautiful meal and festive décor, so why not gather those you love and enjoy the bounty of the season in gratitude for our many blessings? The hustle and bustle of the holiday season will soon be sneaking upon us. So, now is the perfect time to slow down and host a memorable dinner party with friends. Cozy elegance is the theme for the evening!
Soup is a great way to start your fall harvest menu. There are so many fall favorites when it comes to soup, but I’m making a classic, butternut squash soup. I incorporate a healthy twist that uses cauliflower and apple for creamy and sweet flavors. No dairy and no sugar! As usual at Nourish and Charm, the comfort food I offer is full of nutrients without the heavy excess.
When I think of fall dinners, I often think of roasts and fresh herbs. But, a roast does not have to be a heavy stew or a big slab of meat. I’ve come up with a herb-roasted rack of lamb that features the freshest herbs of the season. It presents elegantly and does not overwhelm your plate! Pair this with a seasonal wild rice side alongside a chic salad, and you’ve got yourself a first-class meal for your guests.
And we can’t forget about pumpkin! For dessert, I came up with a delicious pumpkin pie truffle. Your guests will appreciate this punch of flavor with a light touch. I’m also including a healthy pumpkin pie latte recipe that you can offer.
And you can’t let your guests leave without a fun take-home gift. This dinner calls for some healthy pancake mix that your friends can take and enjoy in the morning. This is a nice touch and cozy elegance at its’ best!
Hosting this type of gathering around your own table is just what is needed as the weather is getting cooler. Get inspired by the harvest season and pull together a group that you love. Don’t be intimidated by this elegant meal, It’s easy and your guests will be honored to be a part of it. Remember, it’s the people that count.
