Susan’s Manuka Honey Face Mask

Lose those chemicals and embrace natural skin care

One of my favorite pure barre instructors, Shalisa Pouw, posted a video on Instagram recently applying Manuka Honey on her face. I was intrigued so I looked into it and found that it really does work. I’m all about natural beauty routines and losing some of the chemicals!

Manuka honey has so many health benefits because it is raw and full of antibacterial and healing properties. It can sooth a sore throat, provide digestive support, treat minor wounds and scrapes and it boosts energy! As for your skin, it can clear up breakouts, reduce redness and it’s a wonderful moisturizer. Here’s a recipe for creating a face mask from Manuka honey. Enjoy!

Instructions

Dilute 1 tablespoon of Manuka honey with a few drops of warm water in a small bowl. Add a teaspoon of sugar for an extra touch of exfoliation. For this mask, I used Wedderspoon Manuka Honey. It’s pricey but certainly more affordable than a facial! Spread on your clean face using fingers or a firm brush. Leave on for 20 minutes and then gently wipe off with a warm cloth. Finish with your regular serum or moisturizer. Your skin will be glowing! If you have an event to go to, try this mask before you get ready and you’ll be glistening (just make sure you get all the honey off!)
