Homemade Healthy Dog Biscuits
Have you ever looked at the ingredients in your store bought dog treats? I have and I’ve been meaning to start making my own. So when we decided to have a 1st birthday party for our puppy, I decided the time had come. Turns out they are so easy to make! These biscuits have simple healthy ingredients they are so much better for your four legged friend than store bought. My taste tester in chief, Honey the Golden Retriever, approved of these biscuits with an enthusiastic wag. 🐾
You’ll need cookie cutters for this recipe. I ordered these dog biscuit cookie cutters becuase they came in a variety of sizes.
Ingredients
1 c whole wheat flour (extra for rolling dough)
1 c whole grain oats
1/4 c ground flaxseed
1/2 c peanut butter
2 eggs
1/2 c beef broth (sub chicken or vegetable broth)
Instructions
Heat oven to 350º. Combine all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl until a dough is formed. Chill dough in refrigerator for 15 minutes (or longer). Divide dough in half and form each half into a disk. Flour a flat surface and dust each side of the dough disk. Roll it out until it is 1/4 inch thick. Use your dog biscuit cookie cutters (or any type of cookie cutter!) and place them on a baking sheet. No need to spray the baking sheet. Repeat with remaining dough disk. These biscuits will not spread while they are cooking so you can put as many as you can fit on the baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes. Allow to cool completely before serving to your pup.🐾🐾
