Brain Booster Blueberry Smoothie

When it comes to brain food, there’s nothing like the antioxidant jolt of wild blueberries.  Add in some walnuts with their high concentration of DHA, a memory boost. Then some cacao for improved focus and an and elevated mood.  Leafy greens are for your cognitive protection and cilantro to remove heavy metals.  Put this all together in a beautiful tasty smoothie and you’ve got yourself powerful sustenance for your brain.  I think this smoothie fulfills the mantra “food is medicine”!

Ingredients

  • 1 c water

  • 1 c frozen wild blueberries

  • 1/2 banana

  • 1/4 c walnuts

  • 2 t cacao powder (unsweetened)

  • 1 c fresh spinach (or other leafy green)

  • 1 handful fresh cilantro

Instructions

Combine all ingredients in a power blender.  Blend on high until smooth.  Add additional water to get desired consistency.
